A few of us had a brilliant day at Broughton today. It was super sunny and a nice smooth wind.

It was pretty much effortless to skip over to the south bowl and a few of us went over to Clover Law and further and back. I think Al Brown got to broughton village. It was nice to get a bit of thermalling practice at the start of the year.

As the day went on, it got a bit stronger, with one or two folk providing the occassional scare. At about 4 it got strong enough to prompt us all to land, which signalled the end of the day for most, but the dedicated few waited for the wind to subside and got an extra hour or so evening cruising.

It was the best day I've had at Broughton to date. It bodes well for the rest of the season. Who knows, perhaps I'll even get a downwind XC from there this year.

The day was topped off with a nice pint in West Linton, before heading home to get some rest in preparation for Bishop on Sunday.
